Abstract. The present study discusses the description of the tubercules of the
lung which appeared in the 1826 edition of the treatise De l’auscultation médiate
(1819) by Laennec, the author with Bayle of the first anatomo-clinical conceptualisation
of pulmonary tuberculosis. Employing the analytical framework
developed by Othmar Keel, the study investigates the interrelationships
between two contemporaneous modes of interpreting the pathological evidence—
the localist vision and the anatomo-pathological conception—in order
to understand the influences of the surgical model upon the progress of
anatomical, physiopathological, and tissue investigations by researchers such as
Hunter and Bichat.

Résumé. La présente étude porte sur le contenu du chapitre consacré à la
description des tubercules du poumon figurant dans l’édition de 1826 du traité
De l’auscultation médiate (1819) de Laennec, auteur avec Bayle de la première conceptualisation anatomo-clinique de la tuberculose pulmonaire. Elle s’appuie
sur l’analyse de la filiation dans le temps des deux modes d’appréhension du
fait pathologique que sont la vision localiste et la conception anatomopathologique,
ainsi que sur les perspectives d’analyse ouvertes par les travaux
d’Othmar Keel, pour comprendre l’influence décisive exercée par le modèle
chirurgical sur le progrès des investigations anatomiques, physiopathologiques,
puis tissulaires (Hunter, Bichat).
