William Boyd - The Commonplace and the Books.
Ian Carr
Abstract
William Boyd (1885-1979) is the best known figure in the history of Canadian pathology. Since it is possible that the keeping of a commonplace book may have influenced Boyd's later style, and thus the success of his books, this article records and examines his commonplace book and notes the presence of unusually vivid language in his textbooks.
